Tied Bellows Expansion Joint
The single tied bellows expansion joint consists of a bellows connected to an end with either welded ends or the end of fixed flanges. Similar to the single united expansion joint, the difference lies in the inclusion of a tie rod system capable of withstanding pressure thrust. It is primarily used to absorb axial displacement and a small amount of lateral displacement. The tie rod serves as a limiting displacement bar and is equipped with a stop device, allowing axial displacement to a set position. When equipped with two tie rods, it can also absorb angular movement within a single plane. This type of expansion joint is suitable for pipeline systems without main anchors.Due to its simple structure and low cost, making it a high-priority consideration wherever feasible in pipeline installations.

The universal tied bellows expansion joint consists of two bellows connected by a intermediate pipe, along with tie rods, end plates, spherical and conical washers and other structural components. The tie rod system can absorb lateral displacement in any plane and withstand pressure thrust from the bellows. Tie rods are arranged in two or more sets uniformly distributed around the circumference of the expansion joint.When equipped with two 180-degree tie rods, the expansion joint can freely deflect in both angle and lateral direction. However, when three or more tie rods are installed, only lateral deflection is possible.
